"A 27-year-old California man suspected of fatally shooting his estranged wife and a man in a New Jersey church waived his right to extradition on Tuesday, hours after he surrendered peacefully to authorities at a Georgia motel.
The suspect, Joseph Pallipurath of Sacramento, is accused of shooting and killing his wife, Reshma James, 24, inside the St. Thomas Syrian Orthodox Knanaya Church in Clifton, N.J., a suburb about 15 miles west of Manhattan. Police identified the man who was killed as Dennis John, 25, a church director; he was listed on the church membership rolls as Dennis John Mallosseril, reflecting the religious family heritage.
