When will the time discrpeancy on the board be resolved? Does the board have to be shut down and restarted for the time to change? Thank You.

This is actually set in your profile. Follow these steps to correct it:
1) Go to: Profile > Look and Layout Preferences
2) Look for: "Time Offset: Number of hours to +/- to make displayed time equal to your local time."
3) Next to the box with the number of hours, you will find a link which says "auto detect". Clicking on this runs a javascript which detects your computer time.
4) Alternatively, you can manually enter the number of hour difference in the box by putting tthe number of hours you are ahead or behind of the forum time (the current forum time is displayed below the box).
5) Be sure to scroll down and click the "Change Profile" button at the bottom to save your changes.

Thank You and I apologize profusely for my own ignorance. Do I have to use the auto detect feature at every time change in the USA? I thought the issue was system related rather than profile related....

The "forum time" is actually the time on the server where the forum is located.

^ While I prefer automated processes, I suppose clicking a link twice a year isn't that big of a deal....

You are correct regarding the global nature of the forum. I apologize for the trouble.

My brother just got a new computer and installed Ubuntu rather than Windows. I played around with it for about twenty minutes and fell in love. I'm in the midst of downloading it for what will soon be a triple-boot system (WinXP, Vista, and Ubuntu).

Anyone else having time discrepancies? It is 2:34 at my home not 11:34.

Make sure your time offset is set to 0. The forum's master time is currently at EDT.
