May I ask your prayers of encouragment of my wife's sister, Myroslava. She is 48 years old, and has two daughters, 23 and 20 (both live with her in her apartment in Luts'k, northwestern Ukraine). Recently, Myroslava went through a very painful divorce (entirely not her fault). At the moment, although her daughters occasionally do some odd jobs, she is having a very hard time materially and spiritually, supporting herself and these two girls and receiving practically no help from her estranged and almost always unemployed ex-husband.
Myroslava is a professor of history and theory of music and also a very gifted performer-pianist (she actually survives mostly because she gives private piano lessons, not because of the miserably small salary at her college). A few days ago, she started to write her own textbook on the methodology of teaching music. When I heard about this, I rejoiced, because I know how important music is for Myroslava, and how this writing job can distract her from anxieties and depressive thoughts. Please, pray that the Lord grant her strength and clarity of mind and a lot of stamina and perseverance to finish the book and to get it published!

So many thanks to you all for your prayers! Lesya and I just talked with her on the phone this morning. Her textbook has been approved and will appear in print soon! Mira (short for Myroslava) is very happy, maybe for the first time in many, many years.

I have one question, if it's to personal do not ask: what was her baptismal name? My mother's name is Miroslava also and when she was baptised a priest was looking for it in calendar very long. He finally found Myrope what is quite similar.

It was the USSR and my mother-in-law was a teacher in a Soviet school. If someone reprted, she could have lost her job.

I understand that it was done during very hard times. I know that she might have been baptised without choosing any Saint's name (as first Christians were) but if she has any patron Saint I'd like to know who is she (or he). |
