Prayer request- Chicago trip
« on: October 21, 2008, 01:52:49 PM »
Brothers and sisters,

 I humbly request that you please remember my gf Luminiţa, her friend Maggie, and the 30 other international students they will be escorting on a trip to Chicago for their University.

O Lord Jesus Christ our God, the true and living way, be thou, O Master, their companion, guide and gaurdian during their journey; deliver and protect them from all danger, misfortune and temptation; that being so defended by Thy divine power, they may have a peaceful and successful journey and arrive safely at their destination.  For in thee we put our trust and hope, and to thee, together with thy Eternal Father, and the All-holy Spirit, we ascribe all praise, honor and glory: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

In Christ,
Gabriel

Lord have mercy.
"For, by its immensity, the divine substance surpasses every form that our intellect reaches. Thus we are unable to apprehend it by knowing what it is. Yet we are able to have some knowledge of it by knowing what it is not." - St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa contra gentiles, I, 14.

Lord, have mercy.
"If you are going to serve the Lord, be prepared for times when you will be put to the test. Be sincere and determined. Keep calm when trouble comes. Stay with the Lord; never abandon Him and you will be prosperous at the end of your days. Accept whatever happens to you. Even if you suffer humiliation, be patient. Gold is tested by fire and human character is tested in the furnace of humiliation. Trust the Lord and He will help you. Walk straight in His ways and put your hope in Him. " Sir 2:1-6

Lord have mercy!
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your prayers!  I forgot to mention that she leaves Thursday morning and returns Saturday night.  She's really excited and loves big cities; I'm the worrier. :P :)

For travelers by land, sea, and air, for the sick, the suffering, the captives, and for their salvation, let us pray to the Lord!
