Has anyone heard from him of late? He is in New Zealand I believe and they just had a 7.0 mag. quake.

Yes, but it was several hundred miles away.  There is probably some tsunami danger, but I doubt it caused a significant jolt to New Zealand.

Thanks for everyone's concern.  I am fine and dandy, along with all the country.  There was a small worrry that the quake would produce a tsunami but thank God that never came about.  No damage anywhere, it was too distant.
