Does anyone know of any prayers or services (ie: perhaps like the paraklesis) exist or are available in English on the internet to St. Thomas the Apostle? I know of the 2 typical hymns "O Holy Apostle (fill in the blank) . . . " style hymns used, but I was thinking of something more specific. Something like a paraklesis or an akathist or even something like a Catholic novena style set of prayers. I've looked online and frankly such prayers and devotions to St. Thomas are hard to find. He's "my saint" in the sense that he's my chrismation name, and since his name day is coming up I'd like to find some prayers related to him. I normally just "make up" prayers in my own words as best I can, but sometimes it's better to pray from written prayers as well, and was just wondering if anything like this exists for St. Thomas the Apostle. (maybe if there are any Indian Orthodox Christians here they'd have an idea?)

Thanks for any help you can give in this respect..

You might find something useful to you from the services for Thomas Sunday, especially the troparia from the canon.

Once I get home I'll see if we have any.  St. Thomas is my parish's patron so I imagine we have something that would help.

Welcome to the forum, BTW!

His Troparion goes as follows:

"Thomas touched Thy life-giving side with an eager hand, O Christ God, when Thou didst come to Thy apostles through closed doors. He cried out with all, 'Thou art my Lord and my God.' "

Here's what they have at OCA.org:

Quote
Antipascha
St Thomas Sunday

Troparion - Tone 7

From the sealed tomb, You did shine forth O Life!
Through closed doors You did come to Your disciples, O Christ God!
Renew in us, through them, an upright spirit,
By the greatness of Your mercy, O Resurrection of all!

Kontakion - Tone 8

Thomas touched Your life-giving side with an eager hand, O Christ God,
When You did come to Your apostles through closed doors.
He cried out with all: You are my Lord and my God!

And:

Quote
Apostle Thomas

Troparion - Tone 4

First-enthroned of the apostles,
teachers of the universe:
Entreat the Master of all
to grant peace to the world,
and to our souls great mercy!

Kontakion - Tone 2

Today Christ the Rock glorifies with highest honor
The rock of Faith and leader of the Apostles,
Together with Paul and the company of the twelve,
Whose memory we celebrate with eagerness of faith,
Giving glory to the one who gave glory to them!

Also:

Quote
Holy, Glorious Apostle Thomas

Troparion - Tone 2

You were a disciple of Christ
And a member of the divine college of Apostles.
Having been weak in faith you doubted the Resurrection of Christ.
But by feeling the wounds you believed in His all-pure passion:
Pray now to Him, O all-praised Thomas to grant us peace and great mercy.

Kontakion - Tone 4

Thomas, the faithful servant and disciple of Christ,
Filled with divine grace, cried out from the depth of his love:
You are my Lord and my God!

Thanks everyone! There's a lot of stuff in that link and posted here, I greatly appreciate it. I see several hymns/prayers were exactly what I was thinking of thanks again. (and thanks for the welcome)
