Please pray for my immediate family (my wife and myself), because I am being drawn into the Orthodox faith and she is not. She has no desire to leave her Protestant roots and is satisfied by her own church. I know that there is no way I can resist the call home to the Church of the Apostles, but I do not feel that I should "force" my wife to join me. Right now us going to separate churches is undesirable but tolerable, but my desire to raise our future children Orthodox is going to be a problem.
Really we need prayer because she has no interest or need for the Orthodox faith, while I need it with all of my heart to believe in Christ at all...
Please pray for us.

I am just reminding everyone to please be vigilant in praying about this. I'll probably bump this every month or so just to keep people mindful of the need.
I am trying to be patient about the whole thing and am also trying not to be annoying or too pressing. I will continue to wait for some time before officially entering the catechumenate, but I have already been an inquirer for six months now and it is getting more and more difficult to resist the call home. This is such a difficult situation that desperately requires your prayers.
Also, any advice on the matter is welcome!

Lord have mercy on the works of Your Hands. As for "advice": Patience and love. Accept and respect your family for their choices with the same acceptance and respect you wish for your Orthodoxy.

Lord have mercy! It is an excellent idea not to force the issue. But there will need to be some middle ground reached for you both. A good start would be to ask her to attend the Pascha afternoon celebration. At least at my parish it is a big party that is a ton of fun for everyone-lots of food, games and music for everyone. She might not know how much "fun" being Orthodox can be. We fast hard but we party hard too

Lord, have mercy!
Dear brother, my heart goes out for you. In a way, I am like you because my wife calls herself an agnostic and is very sceptical over "this whole Orthodoxy thing," so I feel very lonely as far as my faith goes. All our friends, absolutely all people with whom we socialize in real life, are not Orthodox and non-believers, agnostics or atheists. However, my situation is perhaps much easier than yours because my wife does not object against me being Orthodox and attends the Divine Liturgies at our mission parish with me.
My only advice is, like others have already said, love your wife, be the best husband in the whole world for her, and be very, very patient. You and your family is in my unworthy prayers.

We had another long conversation about this tonight. She feels like she's really trying, and she still just doesn't agree with things about Orthodoxy and doesn't see why she should stop being Protestant. I didn't debate, I just tried to answer her questions as best as I could. But she basically said that she still has no desire to be Orthodox. She said that she might consider doing it for family unity, but that she wouldn't venerate any icons or believe many things that the Church teaches. I told her that I didn't want her doing anything halfhearted; only if she really believed it herself.
Please pray for us!
