Thank you, but I'm going to be a bit of a pest here to prod for more details. Since I haven't heard about the numbering scheme before, who did the figuring (and how) to arrive at that number? I am aware of the Anglican Archbishop James Ussher's chronology and know that this isn't it.

It was calculated from the chronology from the creation of Adam in the Bible. Orthodox Byzantium used these years I believe.
