Im planning to translate Orthodox prayers in English, to our local language of Cebuano. There in Manila, prayers have already been translated in Tagalog (the national language), but Im very eager to start work on our local toungue.

Was just wondering, do i need permission from the Church to do so?

No, but the blessing is advised.

Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth
