For a period of time, I was separated from my home town and was attending an OCA parish. Now, I have returned, and I've come to realize that there is a need at my parish which might need to be filled in the future. Our deacon has serious back problems and might need to retire within the next ten years. Therefore, I'm considering whether to undertake the permanent diaconate program at Holy Cross to fill his place when the time comes. I would rather attend seminary before I am married and have children, so as to not burden them. Then, I'd be able to use my certification for when the proper times comes. I hope that this is what God wants in my life, since I've been wanting to pursue a religious vocation for much of my life. Please pray that God can show me what he really wants of me.
Grace and peace.

All I can tell you for certain is that I definitely don't want to be a priest. The very idea terrifies me.

I do not care if I'm married or not, since either way, I will have fulfillment in Christ. Only a woman who lives a godly life would be worthy of my consideration in the first place. I feel this way for the first time in my life, and it's good to know that I can find happiness whether married or celibate.

Lord, have mercy, open Your faithful servant's spiritual eyes, illumine his heart that he could find his true vocation in Your service.

If this is the case then you may be on your way to the priesthood. I am very, very happy to read what you are saying. You have such a strong faith that you also trust which is not often found among us. It is refreshing and gives us all hope when one of us is truly devoted to the love of Christ. I pray that the Lord continues to direct your path. Peace be with you always.

I pray that you will prepare yourself to become worthy of the right woman's consideration as well if that is God's will. It's good that you know that you won't compromise your beliefs as well.
