Heath
« on: August 17, 2008, 01:49:12 PM »
Heath is 15 years old and tonight drank poison with the intention of killing himself.
Heath is a champion Basketball player, and has a profound dyslexia which makes him the target of severe bullying at school. He had reported the bullying to the school Principal several times with no result. On Monday while being bullied in the playground, Heath lost his cool and punched the perpetrator, breaking his nose, for which Heath got suspended from school for a week. Tonight he'd had enough of the injustice, and decided to end his life.
His parents who seem very loving were completely unaware of the bullying which has gone on for over two years- Heath was trying to protect them by not telling them.
Please pray for Heath who was saved from death because he vomited most of the poison up, and please pray for Heath's father, Grant, and for me who are going to confront the School tomorrow about the bullying and demand that something be done.

Lord have mercy and heal Your servant Heath.

I've seen bullying. We don't take it lightly, and for good reason.

Lord have mercy on Heath! How cruel children can be. What terrible suffering they can cause. May the Lord be with you George, and grant you wisdom as you deal with the situation!

Lord have mercy! Hopefully the principal will be able to admit the role he has played in this situation and be able to  properly administer the situation for all.

:( I hope and pray that all goes well

It is so sad that young people can come to a stage where they want to end their lives. I can understand that society can be so cruel. We must look out for each to help our fellow brothers.

We are living in dark times and must ask our Lord and God Jesus Christ to have mercy on us through intecessions of our Most All Holy Theotokos.
Let your will be done O Lord Jesus Christ through the intercession of you All Pure Mother and all the saints!

Lord have mercy.  He is in my prayers.  My brother is dyslexic and it was a real struggle for him in school.  Young people, especially children, can be very cruel to someone who is different.  Lord, please heal your servant, Heath and strengthen his parents through this tragedy.  Give everyone strength to deal with bullying others and putting a stop to it.  Please open the hearts of those who bully  to compassion and love for those who are different.

Well, after meeting with Heath's principal, I know exactly how Heath felt because I came within an inch of punching his principal in the face and breaking his nose.
It's quite apparent that he has lost control of discipline in the school, but rather than admit this, he was a spineless, defensive little troll who basically wanted to blame Heath for everything and deny that Heath had reported bullying to him. Unfortunately for him, corroborative evidence makes it clear that Heath is telling the truth, and when this was pointed out to the principal, he terminated the meeting, telling us that he would not discuss it any further unless we put it in writing.
Heath's father, Grant, has decided to pull Heath out of the school and transfer him to a private school.

Heath's father, Grant, has decided to pull Heath out of the school and transfer him to a private school.
If all is as you say it is (and I believe you would not publish it on the Internet unless you were certain) I believe Heath's father has done exactly the right thing.

Glory to God in everything, and may He continue to have mercy on Heath and his family, His servant George, and all who are involved in the life of this young man.

How is Heath and how is he liking his new school?

I hope all is well with him and that he blossoms in his new environment.

Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.
