Any Post-Rock/Instrumental fans ??
« on: June 16, 2009, 01:00:14 AM »
I simply could not resist starting a thread on these wonderful (and broad) genres of music. Are any of you guys familiar with post-rock. Bands that might ring a bell would be Explosions in the Sky, Mono, Mogwai, GY!BE. I have experienced some of the most gut-wrenching and emotionally packed compositions from many of the groups. The beauty of it is that most of them have no vocals so you feed purely of the moods of the instruments. Beautiful beautiful stuff.

New Mono is incredible. I'm catching a show with Maserati as support in October.  Great to see another TWDY and Russian Circles fan out there as well. I couldn't really stomach Pelican or Jesu. Sigur Ros however are supposed to put on quite the emotionally grabbing show. Are you familiar with Caspian ??
