I have read excerpts of the book. And I really enjoyed it. If anyone else reads it I would love to hear what they think.

Your priest is Fr. James? Looks like a very interesting book! I'd love to read it!

Wow! I would really like to read about his journey from Judaism to Christianity, especially since my husband was brought up Jewish and said he could never imagine becoming Christian.

He said it is rather difficult for Jewish people to like or understand Orthodoxy very well. He is a really wonderful man, and his writing style is really cool to read.
If you read it there is an excerpt from "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" that is really priceless when you hear him read it. His voice and facial expressions are so awesome!
He was interviewed in AGAIN magazine years ago and they reprinted the interview in the most recent issue because of the book release next month.

I would love to read his book. I've read all of Fr. James' booklets that he's written for Conciliar. I had the privilege of meeting him at the Pan Orthodox Women's conference at Post Falls, ID in 2003. He was there with a group of women from his church. Mother Christophora was speaking that weekend. He has a lot of charisma.

There are only two booklets on the Conciliar website, but we have three in the parish. Maybe the website is behind a bit.
His booklet "Jewish and Christian" was on OCIC when we were looking into various parishes to visit. We read it and decided to visit Saint Pauls. We haven't attended another church since. It is a wonderful parish. Fr. James will be much busier soon since our part-time second priest has moved to Las Vegas as of today.

He wrote "Which Came First: The Church or the New Testament?", "Communion: A Family Affair", and "Orthodoxy: Jewish and Christian". I have all three of them, so I'd better not lose any, since I may not be able to replace them. Which is the one that is not listed on the Conciliar website. You might try Light and Life--they may still have all 3 of them available.

I would love to read this book. When I was growing up, my parents had some very close, dear friends who were ethnic Jews (atheists, but with deep roots in Eastern European Jewish tradition). Even to this day, I occasionally speak with them when I call my mom on the phone or when I visit her apartment in Kyiv. I don't know what they think about me becoming a practicing Orthodox Christian - we never talk about that, but some day I might tell them, and Fr. James's book might help me be better prepared. Thank you for the info, Quinault.

I had promised my cousin's husband (who is ethnically Jewish) that I would send him an article about Fr. James, I think instead I will send him this book.
