Christ is Risen! Despite having a fall on Holy Wednesday, I managed to get to the Paschal Liturgy at the Monastery of St. George with the help of a walking stick, some friends and some analgesia! Here is a photo of the Paschal Proclamation in the outdoor chapel: Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed!  |

We managed to attend at least one, often two services a day all week as a family. And with three kids that is a feat! I will be sad to attend on my own next year with my kids, but the 2010 Pascha will be a major one for our family. I look forward to it. And the celebration today made up for all the services we drug our kids to all week. And by volunteering to work for the preperation for, and the festivites on Pascha we were able to get to know a great number of people. NO ONE knows how to celebrate like the Orthodox in our opinion. We had a whole pig, a bar, a irish band, games, an easter egg hunt....and a ton more. We are so happy to be Orthodox now! |

Seven baptisms at my church Saturday: a middle-aged couple whose son and daughter-in-law were chrismated in our church last year, and a young couple with their three kids (a 5-year-old boy, 3-year-old girl, and 10-month-old boy)
May God grant them all many years!

After the Paschal Liturgy, everyone hungrily filed into the dining hall and kitchen. Well, some people were handing out beer (I won't mention any names but their initials are Orthodox Bagpiper ) before I had a chance to get any food down. After JUST TWO, my girlfriend was teasing me mercilessly! (For the record, I only had two. Beers, that is. ) |
