Axios!Axios!...many years........... In 1935 three bishops of the New Calendar Church returned to the Old Calendar and made more bishops for the many communities of those staying on the Old Calendar. Some of these bishops later returned to the New Calendar, some were imprisoned, and some died. Therefore, in 1955, there were no more bishops. In 1960-1, ROCOR bishops made new bishops for our Church. In 1969, ROCOR entered full communion with us. This relationship unfortunately deteriorated over time. We have historically enjoyed good relations with the Jerusalem Patriarchate but we do not concelebrate with them. The Ecumenical Patriarchate generally does not recognize our orders in recent times but the JP, ROCOR, and some Serbian bishops (such as your Bp Amphilochije) do, and the OCA seems to accept that we have grace in that it lists the ordination dates of its bishop Lazar as being the date he was made a bishop in the Old Calendar Church). Of course, we do not consider nor rely on such recognition as we are separate for a reason--but I am just trying to accurately answer your question as you posed it. Pray for an end to divisions. Yours in Christ, Deacon Anastasios

Amen.
Father Anastasios, was that Metropolitan Pavlos, who performed your ordination?
Edited for spelling.
Yes. In 2006, they said that he would die from his massive stroke. He was paralyzed on the right side and bed-ridden. Then, he woke up. His speech came back. He could move his right hand and leg more....the Synod and the people wanted him to return to the Church to serve, and so he began to serve, in his wheelchair, assisted by our assistant Bishop Christodoulos and the priests. Just 3 weeks ago or so, he was able to stand up briefly with some assistance. On Pascha he stood up twice--I believe in another few months or a year he may be able to serve standing the entire time. I am so thankful that he was able to ordain me.

But they went back under the ecumenical patriarch..they said the shrine was in astoria N.Y. is this the same group that you belonged too before...who is guardian of the holy icon now....old or new calender Greek Church.... Again Axios!Axios!Axios......Many Many Years...... Ps I liked the old Calender Orthodox Greek Church a lot ,,,i felt at home there....
