My dearest brothers and sisters in Christ,
I humbly ask for your prayers as I have sinned against you all by my prideful, ignorant remarks. I humbly prostrate myself before each of you, and with tears ask for your forgiveness and prayers. I am not charitable, I am not patient, and I am not worthy to call myself a Christian. Please pray that my prideful heart will be crushed. And again, I ask for your forgiveness and prayers.
Gabriel

Prayers - and hugs. As Christians, Gabriel, we have a hard road to walk in following our Saviour. A lot of the time we lose sight of Him, because we have stumbled into a pot-hole; sometimes one that we have ourselves created. Trust me, I know. I believe the first step in getting back on the road is the often difficult task of recognising that one is in a pot-hole situation - sometimes they can be just a little too comfortable. So we have to gather up whatever resources we need to peek over the edge; focus on Christ and find the strength in Him to clamber back out onto the road.... until the next time! This is, imo, what it is to be a pilgrim!

Excellence of character, then, is a state concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and in the way in which the man of practical wisdom would determine it. Now it is a mean between two vices, that which depends on excess and that which depends on defect.

Lord have mercy. May God forgive us all. Gabriel, in all honesty you are one of the most humble people I know, and posts such as this one prove it. Consistently you encourage others and take an interest in their lives in a way few have been able to. You give everyone around you a reason to smile. Now ignorant on the other hand....just kidding bro. You're always in my prayers.

Thank you *EVERYONE* for the very kind words. Great Lent sort of reminds me of an X-Ray machine that reveals what goes on inside our 'spirtual' selves. It's supposed to be cathartic, and it is eventually, but at first it can be literally hell. Sort of like an addict who finally realizes they have a problem (and just to clarify -I'm not an addict unless you count donuts ). Anyway, I'm starting to see that my heart is really a barnyard stable full of...well...you know. Anyway, thanks for your kind words and prayers. And be sure that, FWIW, I'm praying for all y'all too.
