What a riot!  Of course, it doesn't address many parts of growing up in a Greek household, and hearing phrases like (I'll put them in their translated form - it's much funnier that way) "you want to eat wood?" (i.e. a spanking) and "you dumb eggplant!"

LOL!  Lord have mercy!  I heard every one of those admonishments growin' up but the one's that scared me the most were 'Wait til your daddy gits home." and "I'm grabbin' a switch (a small but unbreakable, flexible branch from a Hickory tree capable of reaching long distances), boy!"  Cheesy  Thanks for bringing up traumatic childhood memories, Ozgeorge. laugh laugh

"I will change your lightbulbs",  "I will burn you", "I will eat you", "I will (poo) you" and the dreaded koutala and pantdofla.

Oh, the switch.  My mom used forsythia branches... yeow!  The branch grows around 3-4 feet long and no thicker than a finger.
