What's with these new smiley's, anyway? With the exception of the additional smiley's we didn't have before (such as the nerd and the Grim Reaper), I find the new smiley's much harder to read than the old ones.

The ones you're referring to have no images linked to their commands. If they did, then you would need to put colons - ":" before and after each word with no spaces. When you put spaces, it looks like this - : police : When you don't, it looks like this -  |
