O Christ, Who alone art our Defender: Visit and heal Thy suffering servant Carloyn, delivering her from sickness and grievous pains. Raise her up that she may sing to Thee and praise Thee without ceasing, through the prayers of the Theotokos, O Thou Who alone lovest mankind.

New update.
My sister-in-law finally dragged my sister to Johns Hopkins here in Baltimore due to her continued weight loss and the fact that she still doesn't really feel any better even though she's completed the treatment. Ironically enough, it's the same hospital my mother-in-law is in (for her heart trouble, if you've been following my requests!) so tonight we'll be able to hit two birds with one stone, so to speak.
JH is often noted as the best hospital in the US so she's in good hands finally.
Your continued prayers for CAROLYN are much appreciated.

Update.
We're still not sure what's going on totally. A CAT scan showed that food is simply not moving from her stomach into the rest of the GI system. She has wicked gird which is causing a certainly understandable reticence in eating most anything in those times when she actually is hungry. She'll find out the results of the latest tests in a couple of days. The hardest part is, of course, not knowing what is going on. All the diagnoses so far have either been outright wrong or only half right. While my sister is understandably depressed through this whole thing, my mother is taking it all particuarly hard. She told me today through tears that she was afraid my sister was just not going to wake up someday.
Please continue to remember the servant of God CAROLYN and my poor, saintly mother EVELYN in your prayers.

I just wanted to first thank everyone for their continued prayers for my sister and to give an update. She has finally been diagnosed with Addison's Disease, an endocrine disorder that is, thankfully, easily treatable with oral medication. As it happens, Addison's was one of the main causes for the death of my grandmother (it is not, however, hereditary). My father, who never remembers anything like this, recalled this fact after the doctor brought up the possibility. He was quite relieved to hear that it's not hereditary. At any rate, thank you again for your prayers and please join me in offering glory to God for the closing of this horrible chapter in my sister's life.

She just needs to take glucocorticoids. JFK had Addison's disease since he was a little boy, and very few people even knew about it. As long as your sister takes glucocorticoids, she should be fine.

Glory to God! No one ever rejoices at hearing they have a chronic illness, but at least this sounds as if it is manageable.
Isn't Addison's Disease frequently mentioned on House when he starts his differential diagnosis discussions with his assistants?

Glory to God! I've often thought of your sister, wondering how she was doing, as my health problems- the symptoms of which appeared somewhat similar- began about the same time as hers.
