Friends, For us Greek Catholics, Lent started a couple days ago and we're in the beginnings of the Fast. This year, I'm only drinking water and eschewing other, more delicious forms of drink. An unforseen side affect is the withdrawal symptoms from caffeine, which is making me a very irritable person. While I don't drink alot, I drink enough for it to have affect on me, apparently. I'm just asking for a quick prayer to help me get through these stages and on with the meat of the Fast, so to speak. Thanks!

I know what it's like to have caffeine withdrawal, so...
Lord have mercy!

Lord, have mercy.
You are a hero, indeed. I can't live without caffeine (and, unfortunately, without alcohol, too).

Lord have mercy! Schultz, I've had to do the same thing on more than one occasion, so I can sympathize. Hang in there; it gets better after the first few days.

The easiest thing is just to go cold turkey - once you get past the raging headaches, the tiredness and the panicky cravings - it's all downhill from there. By the end of Lent you'll wonder why you even had to have 2 venti lattes to get going in the morning.

Thankfully I haven't had any panicky cravings or the tiredness, really. Just a bit of a headache and a temper the size of a mustard seed. I've become the mule I don't want to be. I'm sure it will pass, it's just disconcerting to be entering into a time of repentence acting like a jerk!
