Dads' Operation
« on: February 05, 2008, 09:36:46 AM »
Please pray for my dad. He has a blood clot in the artery in his neck - the artery is 99% blocked. It is a dicey operation - the clot could move during the operation and end up anywhere. It has already been to his eyes causing him to go blind for a few hours, now it is in his neck. Pray they get the clot!! Also they are worried as he has already had two strokes, and the threat of another during the operation is relatively high. Thanks

May God grant you and your Father peace and that this operation may bring glory to Him.
The sins I don't commit are largely due to the weakness of my limbs.

O Lord Jesus Christ our God, Who did patiently endure the scourging and wounding of Your most holy Body, that You might save the souls and bodies of Your people, look graciously, we beseech You, upon the suffering body of Your servant and give him strength to endure patiently whatsoever You shall see fit to lay upon him. Bless the means employed for the working out of his cure, granting that he may so endure his sufferings in the flesh that the wounding of his body may be to avail for the correcting and salvation of his soul, for Yours it is to show mercy and to save, O Christ our God; and to You do we send up Glory, as to Your Eternal Father and Your All‑Holy, Good and Life‑creating Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Just an update-dad is in critical care. His heart beat has dropped to about 30 beats per minute, but they gave him a shot of something and it picked up again. Last word was it was dropping again, this time it was 49 bpm. They say the next 24hrs is critical. Thanks for your prayers. The doctor told him before the op he should not be alive due to the lack of blood flow through his artery, and the doc said "Someone must be looking after you", to which dad replied "He is". Dad has a strong faith in God!! Please also pray for my mum and sister. They aren't coping too well, and they need a good night sleep. Thanks again.

Latest News!! Dad is out of Intensive Care, and his heartbeat seems to be normalising (last night it was down to 35 bpm). They may let him home this weekend. We are all pretty relieved. Thanks for the prayers!
