Any insight into this book?

It looks really weird. My catholic friend is just gushing about it.

I heard that it is the "original" of "The city of God" by Augustine.

Scratch that, there is an 1200 year gap inbetween to Augustine's favor.

I am always very wary of things like this.
"For, by its immensity, the divine substance surpasses every form that our intellect reaches. Thus we are unable to apprehend it by knowing what it is. Yet we are able to have some knowledge of it by knowing what it is not." - St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa contra gentiles, I, 14.
