Memory eternal.

Memory Eternal.

O God of all spiritual and corporeal beings, You Who trampled death, broke the power of Satan and granted life to the whole world, now, O Lord, grant rest to the soul of Your departed priest-servant, Sayednah Elias, in a place of light, freshness, and peace, where there is neither pain nor sorrow, and the peoples of all Your Holy Churches, which Your servant so loved, are finally united.

As You are a gracious God and the Lover of mankind, remember his years of service to You before the Holy Table and forgive him every transgression committed by him in word, deed, or thought, since there is no man alive who has not sinned, for You alone are without sin and You are the Resurrection and the Life, O Christ our God, and we render glory to You, together with Your Eternal Father, and Your most Holy, gracious, and life-giving Spirit, now and ever and forever. Amen.

May the memory of this humble and holy man, whose prayerful vision for union of Antiochian Christians was too soon for its realization, be eternal and be thrice-blessed.
"Not only is it unnecessary to adopt the customs of the Latin Rite to manifest one's Catholicism, it is an offense against the unity of the Church."

- Melkite Archbishop Joseph (Tawil), of blessed memory

dhikraahu ilaa al-abad.
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth
