Heresies and paganism are condemned for this, exact reason: THEY use various elements of the One, Holy, Universal and Apostolic Faith to suit there fallible doctrines.
Now, in some many places and walks of life, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church is accused of being 'Rasta', condoning Rastafarian beliefs and baptizing the un-confessing candidate!
Those who approach the Font of Life without desiring the Life of Christ, go about preaching against the very God Who is able to save them. This is why the great Catechizers of the Orthodox Church warned them (the potentate), the present and future bishops about baptizing the unlearned and those who are not properly examined.
Those Rastafarians who come to the Church just to receive a baptismal name and to be called Orthodox do so merely in attempt to infiltrate the Church members who are in transistion and desire the truth. Instead of them being converted by the Church, they attempt to convert the Church--which will never happen.
Please don't use the late Abune Yeshaq's name and character as a cover-up. The Word of God is a two-edged sword, not a book of poetry to be used by cults as justification for false doctrines and gods.
