May Orthodoxy become our orthopraxis

This Ethiopian icon looks like the “Last Supper.”  Is there a reason there are drums/jars present instead of a table?

Thanks in advance

Dear Seraphim,

I just viewed your post/question and I apologize for the late response.  In this Ethiopian icon of the Lord's Supper or Tselote Hamus (Holy Thursday), you are seeing the Lord Christ and His saintly Apostles 'break bread' on traditional Ethiopian tables or baskets called, me'so'b.  There is a typical chalice that is being used that you would see in the average Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church.

I hope that this information was helpful.

Take care,
