Do we have any ordained folk here?
« on: October 03, 2002, 05:38:50 PM »
Glory to Jesus Christ!

I saw that a priest was lurking earlier, and it got me thinking about hom many do we have here that are ordained to be a part of the Liturgy? If you're a priest, deacon, sub-deacon, altar boy, reader, cantor, matushka, monk or nun let us all know. God Bless us all!

Slava Isusu Christu!

I was tonsured in July, 2001 as a Lector for the Eparchy of Passaic, and have just about completed the formation program for the Diaconate.

Please keep my and my Lector brothers in your prayers as we continue our journey towards ordination.

In Christ

I am a tonsured reader, tonsured by His Holiness Theodosius, who at that time was head of the OCA.

After reading a few threads here I feel like maybe I wandered into the wrong place? Y'all are so much more Orthodox than I am, apparently. It's very daunting. I feel like a phlebotomist in a Christian Science Reading Room.

I was tonsured as reader (Eugnostos) in 1989 by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

I was also Tonsured chantor (Epsatos) in 1997 by a Greek Orthodox Bishop whose name I don't recall at this time, when I was attending Holy Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Buffalo NY.

In case you're wondering, I am a Greek Orthodox christian who also likes praying with the Copts.
