The Idea Of Covenant
« on: November 30, 2007, 11:48:46 PM »

I would like to discuss Catholic and Orthodox understandings, terminologies, etc. on the idea of covenant. The covenants that God made throughout salvation history and covenant as it applies to sacramental theology (i.e., Holy Mysteries as actions/renewals of covenant).
Through the intercession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, may Jesus Christ bless you abundantly.

Pray that we may be one, as Christ and His Father are one. (John 17:20ff)

A covenant, when used in the context of our relationship to God, is an agreement between God and His people, wherein they receive blessings and special status, and they pledge to remain faithful to the One True God, and to the commands that He gives them.
