The new "Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches" (CCEO), which was issued by papal decree in 1991, replaced the ancient canons of the Church (i.e., the Rudder) for Eastern Catholics; my question is this: Should the Rudder be restored to its proper place in Eastern Catholic life and praxis?
Was the Rudder originally in universal use by the Eastern Catholics? What status (if any) does it hold now?
P.S. - It should be noted that the CCEO is nearly identical to the Latin Church's modern (1983) code, and was even written in Latin, and clearly reflects the theological views of the Roman Church.
"Written in Latin." LOL
