Methinks that, just as with the push for research into alternative fuels, searching for alternatives for embryonic stem cells for variety and viability of research rather than for moral reasons has a better prospect for sustainability.
Actually it's even better than that. What he's talking about is the "dedifferentiation" of somatic cells, like skins cells INTO embryonic-like stem cells. Last year, Japanese scientists figured out how to "dedifferentiate" cells, a huge leap forward, instead of the hassle in looking for embryonic or adult stem cells.
