His Beatitude Ilarion Ohienko of blessed memory (1882-1972), the first translator of Holy Bible and Orthodox Divine Liturgy to Ukrainian language, a prominent statesman, then Archbishop of Lublin and Helm in Poland, and then later Metropolitan of Winnipeg and Primate of Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada has been honored with a conference in Winnipeg.

Glory be to God! I have prof. Ohienko's translation at my home. Even though I find the language a bit archaic and the style a tad too emotional (so many exclamation marks!), I do very, very much appreciate his colossal effort and scholarship. Taky je mudri ukrayintsi! :)
