I was after getting a prayer rope but am unable to mainly because I live near no Orthodox parishes and my parents are paralyzed with fear about using money in any form over the net as it may get "stolen". What should I do to get one?

Get someone to mail you one? Or get a friend that has a credit card to order you one online?

I have no problem buying one for you and mailing it out.  We live close to a monastery, and the nuns make them there.

PM if you would like, just include if you prefer a 25,50, or 100 count rope.

I also have an extra prayer rope that my spiritual father gave from the G.O. monastery in Texas.  I will gladly mail it to you if you are interested...just send me a message with your address.
