In the Armenian Church the Holy Body is immersed in the Holy Blood and the priest puts it that way into the mouth of the faithful, using his fingers.  Whenever I have taken Communion in the Coptic Church, however, the Holy Body is given seperately from the Holy Blood.  The latter is given to the faithful using a spoon.

I've seen Indian Orthodox give the Eucharist in the same manner the Armenians do.  Not sure if that's similar to what Syrians do.

The Indian Churches I have been to (two) use the body and blood like the Ethiopian and the Egyptian churches.

The scripture prescribes how to 'administer' the body and the blood.

Christ said: "Take eat this is my body...." than "Take drink this is my blood...."

Ethiopia teaches that the apostles maintained 'two' actions in the single eucharistic formula "communion".

Thus we are required to act first in the Body AND THEN in the Blood as the second and final action seperately to equal one single partaking or communion. The two acts also helps to signify to us the faithful the fullfillment of the prophets and the new covenant in Christ.
