Ugh. The poor kid! Just think when it grows up, it will find out how it was brought into the world: Its grandfather masturbated semen into a plastic cup with which doctors impregnated its mother. The kid's father will be its half-brother.

Identity issues are sure to arise. Honestly, if they're going to go this far, they might as well make it easier and have the grandfather sleep with his daughter-in-law. It would be just as offensive to God. Sigh. . . poor kid.

Well, I don't know the details but perhaps this particular genetic line carries a high degree of intelligence, better to continue it than take an  anonymous donor why may not give as good of results, there are certainly biological traits worth preserving.

I really fail to see why this should be regarded as a problem. Everyone's complaining about the potential relationship problems of a child that wouldn't even exist if this procedure were denied.

Of course intelligence supercedes morality - we are progressives. We no live in the dark ages of the Bible.

And which of your dark age abstract moral codes relate to the restriction of sperm donors for scientific procedures? You're trying to fit a round peg into a square hole, the moral codes you claim to be upholding simply don't apply here.
