A person not of my parish had been having troubles getting his mother into surgery; the doctors had been delaying the surgery due to some private concerns of theirs and his mother was in quite a bit of pain. He asked me to pray for her and him this week, and I did so.
Yesterday they learned that an operating time had opened up a full month ahead of schedule, and she was rushed in. Unfortunately I just learned that there were complications in the surgery (he called me in the middle of the operation). The son wanted me to pray again, take me to task for not praying that everything go more smoothly with his mother (he was upset and I was handy), and ask why would God plague them in such a way.
So, please, pray to help these folks, whose names I won’t reveal, so that:
-The mother will recover;
-The son’s fears will be calmed; and
-The patient, her son, and all the caretakers will grow closer to God through this experience.
