In other news, what do you fellows think of Canibus? He used to be a lyrical monster from 1990s-2000 but then gradually fell of. That dog was a lyrical undertaker in the underground who smashed everyone he was on a track with.

I really liked his debut, a lot. The problem I had with him later on, and this is also a criticism I have of recent Em, is that he talks a lot about how great he is, which is a big pet peeve of mine.

Post a lot of her songs? ??? This thread is now close to 4400 posts long, and only four of those posts have me talking about Enya. All told, I mention her maybe ten times in the seven years I've been posting on this forum, and you allege that I have some kind of thing for Enya? Dude, do you even think about what you're going to say before you spout off with your fingers? ??? I spend more time talking about Beethoven, Antonin Dvorak, Queen, and Ozzy Osbourne than I do Enya.

Personally I can't stand her lol
To each his own, I guess. ;)

Haven't we all shed a tear when hearing the plight of Mr. Wendall ... or should I say, hearing how sad we all are compared to him?

Haha, it just stuck out to me I guess because how much I loathe her.

Maybe there were some other users posting her stuff too.

And then the Chronic blew up the charts, and it was back to blunts, 40s and *****es.

I really liked a lot of the positive things on that album, that song is a highlight.

Me too. That came out when I was in the 6th grade. We used to cut class and go to the park to smoke a little green and listen to that album. My parents sent me to Catholic school the next year. But I got kicked out of there when I got caught with a baggie of the green stuff. So then it was off to boarding school in Tennessee. And guess what happened there? Yep. You guessed it. Less than a year later I found myself in a "Reform School." Couldn't get kicked out of that one though. The pedophiles wanted to keep me around as long as possible. I was there for two and half years, but fortunately I left still a virgin. God had my back. But it all started with Michael Jackson's "Off The Wall"! I blame it on that devil music!  ;)

I don't know why I always have Adina Howard's "Freak Like Me" stuck in my head, recently.

It's really mediocre and she is such a dog that it is off putting to me. Sure I love when women wrote songs about getting freaky, but not the sort of vulgarity she delves in.

But yet I can't stop playing it, I really like the acoustics on it.

Now "Red Light Special" by TLC is how you do it, Adina.

I think I hold the minority opinion when I say this, but am I the only one who thinks that Relapse is his greatest album simply because it's his most technically complex album to date? If you can get past the stupid accents, lousy production, sloppy flow and filler, the rhyme patterns are amazing on that album. A lot greater than that boring, simple ABC stuff from his previous work.

My generation and home culture; watching us grow old is sweet.  Vedder gets better and better

Pearl Jam 'Just Breathe'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0mhrqfeFjQ

Yes I understand that every life must end,
As we sit alone, I know someday we must go,
I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love
Some folks just have one, others, they got none,
Stay with me, let's just breathe.

Practiced are my sins never gonna let me win,
Under everything, just another human being,
Yeah, I don't wanna hurt, there's so much in this world to make me bleed.
Stay with me, you're all I see.

(Chorus) Did I say that I need you?
Did I say that I want you?
Oh, if I didn't I'm a fool you see
No one knows this more than me.
As I come clean

I wonder every day as I look upon your face,
Everything you gave and nothing you would take,
Nothing you would take, everything you gave.

Nothing you would take, everything you gave.
Hold me till I die, meet you on the other side

If anyone likes cheesy pop rock, as I do from time to time, check out the new record from Cartel called "Collider"

These guys are from my hometown and my terrible high school metal band played with them a couple times at this trashy house show before they hit it big.

Best live concert performance I've seen is from:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2AClQDGqis  Habib Koite and Bamada

Love the balafon player, he had the kindest soul eyes I'd seen in a long time:  Kélétigui Diabate.

Habib says the Bambara proverb is: We come into the world in the arms of others, we leave this world in the arms of others.

Found another one with Habib collaborating with an American Blues musician.  Interesting combo, Malian music with blues.

Eric's mother said, 'Son, if your only goin' to sing one song, make it that one.'

No wonder he had to die so young.  Can't have extremely talented musicians spreading a message about the purpose of life.
