Very nice! He plays in a style similar to Stanley Jordan.

The first published song from their upcoming album. Their last album was nice and this sounds nice too so I'm looking forward to the upcoming Ritual Death Metal.

That's pretty cool. A friend of mine lived next door for a while to Attila Csihar (vocalist of Mayhem and other black metal groups) and even taught him a little about throat-singing.

The Jam - "Thick as Thieves"

One of the best songs Paul Weller has ever written.

Heck yeah. 'Setting Sons' album was his finest moment, and that may very well be the best song from the album, though it is really best experienced as part of a thematic whole. I think the album was conceived as a sort of a nostalgic 'rock opera' (?), somewhat along the lines of Kinks' 'Village Green Preservation Society'; Always seemed that way to me, anyhow.

Agreed all around.

May I respectfully be the voice of dissent then?  At least as far as The Jam go, I'm still a huge fan of their first three LPs and all of the associated singles.  I like selected tracks from the later stuff, but it just sounds a bit too polished for my liking. Similarly, I never got into Weller's stuff the same.  "A Bomb" is, of course, an all-time classic.

Quote
One of my bands is playing at a Jam/Clash tribute night next month and we're doing "Thick as Thieves" (along with "A Bomb," "Pretty Green," and "Saturday's Kids")...

Of course, it's Weller Wednesday, too, so that leads me to my late morning soundtrack of Stanley Road (live).

Just saw this now, but PM on its way.

As for me: Angelic Upstarts - Capital City (some explicit lyrics kiddies).

I remember this LP (We Gotta Get Out of This Place) being really hard to find years after the release, because it was issued by Warner Brothers rather than a niche/independent label.  You'd think the opposite, being on a major label, but it wasn't.  Anyway, now we have CDs and these internet things.  I'll take an afternoon in Camden Town record shops over web surfing any day though.
