I recently saw the musical in theatre (this recording is from an older performance) and was very impressed.

François Couperin, "Les chérubins, ou L'aimable Lazure."

I try not to do the ornaments too tightly, as they then become percussive and after a while you feel nervous instead of relaxed.

Also his "Soeur Monique," "Le turbulent," and "L'himen-amour."

Anonymous 4 and the King's Singers rock the house.

Brand new earworm:

Bellowhead - Roll The Woodpile Down

Heard it in the car this afternoon and it was so catchy that I had to track it down. The version on the clip is obviously off the album (Broadside); the single version will be officially released in February, and it's even more foot-stomping!

Do a Google search with "youtube to mp3". There are various pages that convert YT clips to mp3's online. You copy the YT address, paste it there and download the mp3.

I used to use iLivid, but the last time I tried to use it it didn't seem to be working. Besides, I always had to go through an additional step of opening a separate program to convert to mp3. There must be better options out there...

If you use Firefox, there are several add-ons that allow you to download from YouTube.

Alternatively, you can convert to mp3 directly from YouTube with this.

Thanks very much.  I got it to download through the Firefox add-on, and it is playing on the media player, but I can't seem to find it to put it on the mp3.  I may have to do this when I'm not so slammed with work.

Got it.  I figured it would go straight to the media player, but I eventually thought to look in downloads, and it was toward the end of a huge pile of stuff.  Thanks, I've wanted to put that song on my mp3 player for a long time.    Smiley

Weird. Never would have guessed it! I was gonna guess Carlos Alomar. But then I looked it up, and it turns out I was thinking of Iggy's version:

Gotta say, I still prefer this version. Much more sinister-sounding. Sure is interesting to compare the two!

Stevie did some great work on this. I'm not a huge David Bowie fan, but I dig a lot of his stuff. Very funky and very tight. A surprising collaboration, but it worked!

I'm listening to Return of the Living Dead in French.  Huh Grin  It's funny how sometimes the voice actors totally get the tone/implications of what is being said wrong. Like in one scene a girl says sarcastically "oh let's do that," but in the French version she sounds approving and eager at the idea rather than sarcastic.
