Mahmoud Ahmed sings classic Gurage-language song "Ashkaru" for the troops on the Ethiopian-Eritrean border at the close of the 1998-2000 war over that border. I'm against war, but I'll be damned if this doesn't make war look like more fun than anything I've ever done in my entire life. Sad

69 Eyes - X: Red

One of the most shamelessly and openly commercial song that I've heard but I still like. I just wish they had written a little more lyrics to it. That repetition gets boring.

Because he is a pop-rapper that purposely writes music just to appeal to women. He started off an amazing battle rapper, but ultimately became really poppish. Don't even get me started on the second song I posted.

"With all this extra stressin
The question I wonder is after death, after my last breath
When will I finally get to rest? Through this supression
They punish the people that's askin questions
And those that possess, steal from the ones without possessions
The message I stress: to make it stop study your lessons
Don't settle for less - even a genius asks-es questions
 Be grateful for blessings
Don't ever change, keep your essence
The power is in the people and politics we address
Always do your best, don't let the pressure make you panic
 And when you get stranded
And things don't go the way you planned it
Dreamin of riches, in a position of makin a difference
Politicians and hypocrites, they don't wanna listen"

There's a few Weird Al songs I like, I can't remember which, but shame on him for parodying Gangster's Paradise.
Funny story: He likes to always gain permission for his parodies, but this was pretty much the only exception. He was led to believe Coolio approved, but hadn't personally sought permission, and published his song while misinformed. Coolio became pretty cool about it later.

Also, Amish Paradise is hilarious.

Yeah, Weird Al is real serious about having permission from the writers (or perhaps it's the first performer) of the songs he parodies.  I believe with Amish Paradise, he had gotten the permission of Coolio's label, under the impression they had asked Coolio first.

Pure lyrical genius, he always outperforms everyone he is on a track with.

Masking out the F-bomb while still leaving just enough that anyone can know it's still the F-bomb is still a violation of our forum's rules against obscenity. Seeing also that many of the lyrics of songs you've posted are at times obscene, I need to ask you formally to stop this. If you wish to direct us to a song with obscene material, please post merely a link to the song together with an advisory that the song contains material many here will deem offensive. You don't need to quote the song's lyrics here.

If you wish to appeal this 30-day warning, please send me a private message.
