Tonight I went out and bought 'Reign in Blood,' again, and 'The Chosen Few,' which is a Judas Priest collection. I remember when 'Reign in Blood' first came out and CDs still had those long cardboard boxes, which I would cut up and put on the wall.   Smiley. Ah, those days.

My favorite Slayer album is the one right after RiB, South of Heaven. I honestly get a little bored with RiB after the first track.

Well, I think all of Reign is awesome, but I won't quibble. SoH did have a really good Judas Priest cover. And 'Seasons in the Abyss' was really good. I wonder if they'll be doing any touring in North America soon. I think they were in Europe not too long ago. Anyhoo... thumbs up 'cause you like Nick Cave too.  Smiley My favorite of his is 'The Boatman's Call.'

Okay, I'll stop rambling now.

"I See Love" by Third Day

Not a huge fan of most Contemporary Christian Music, but Third Day is a big exception to that. Definitely recommend the song.

Metallica - Just a Bullet Away

From the Beyond Magnetic EP/LP/Whatever-it-is. About as good as the stuff on Death Magnetic, so I'm guessing it isn't left-overs that didn't make the cut so much as left-overs that there just wasn't room for on the original album. Anyway, 29 minutes of metal for $5 is fine with me.  Also bought Lamb of God's new one today (Resolution), which included a free live CD with it, and also As I Lay Dying's mixed-bag-album decas from last year.

Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen,
Tod und Verzweiflung flammet um mich her!
fühlt nicht durch dich Sarastro Todesschmerzen,
so bist du meine Tochter nimmermehr.

Verstoßen sei auf ewig,
verlassen sei auf ewig,
zertrümmert sei'n auf ewig
alle Bande der Natur
wenn nicht durch dich Sarastro wird erblassen!
Hört, Rachegötter, hört der Mutter Schwur!

Hell's vengeance boils in my heart;
Death and despair blaze around me!
If Sarastro does not feel the pain of death because of you,
Then you will be my daughter nevermore.

Disowned be forever,
Forsaken be forever,
Shattered be forever
All the bonds of nature
If Sarastro does not turn pale [in death] because of you!
Hear, gods of vengeance, hear the mother's oath!
