Listening to this over and over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6D1bzmGPlyw
Wow, thank you for posting this! I am definitely listening to all of it sometime today.

I was listening to Acir Radio earlier. I'm hoping that listening to Mexican news in Spanish each day is going to rapidly increase my fluency.

This small piano piece by Brahms, the Ballade from Op. 188 6 piano pieces.  I prefer Emmanuel Ax performing it. It's more up tempo and there is more contrast.  But Wilhelm Kempff is still a hell of a pianist.

The first three U2 albums: Boy, War, and October. Such great, timeless music, and deeply inspirational. Man, did their music go down hill fast! A perfect example of how Capitalism often corrupts creativity (as well as Christianity). The quality of their faith seemed to wane with the quality of their music. But I still love the early U2 stuff.

I can't get pass this one yet without laughing so hard that I taste a little bit of what I had for lunch.

This is why satire is dead. There is nothing to satire when the world is nothing but.

This is absolutely brilliant. I might just have to listen to see if the programs measure up to standards set by their descriptions.

What does any of that have to do with Fr. Matthew Raphael Johnson? I never linked to any of those other people. I linked to the Orthodox Christian whose blurb you didn't reproduce here for some strange reason. Trying to get folks not to listen? Here is Fr. Matt's bio:

The Orthodox Nationalist is a weekly program hosted by historian and writer Fr. Matthew Raphael Johnson, Ph.D. The show airs on Thursdays at 9pm, Eastern U.S. time.

Matthew’s program brings a lively discussion of political theory and religious ideas, with a focus on the central role of Russian and Ukrainian nationalism, and the Eastern Orthodox faith, in challenging the New World Order.

About Matthew Raphael Johnson

Matt is originally from Union County, New Jersey. He received his master’s degree at the University of Missouri, writing his thesis on social alienation in the works of Hegel and Nietzsche. He went on to complete his Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska, writing his dissertation on Michael Oakeshott’s critique of modernity.

A well known expert on Russian history, Matt has written numerous articles that have been published in major journals in several languages. He is also author of several books, including: Sobornosti: Essays on the Old Faith; Heavenly Serbia and the Medieval Idea; Orthodoxy, Autocracy, Nationality: Lectures on Medieval Russia; The Ancient Orthodox Tradition in Russian Literature; The Third Rome: Holy Russia, Tsarism and Orthodoxy.

At present, Matt is an independent writer and a priest of the Russo-Ukrainian Orthodox Church. His present research centers around small-state nationalism in Serbia, Ireland and Ukraine, and its relationship to the agrarian life. Matt can be contacted at fr_raphael@yahoo.com.

I'm not sure how you think that ridiculing the man discredits him... Why don't you address something he actually said or something that actually has to do with him? I've been told that ad hominems are not permitted here. Perhaps you guys didn't get the memo yet?

I might just have to listen to see if the programs measure up to standards set by their descriptions.

I tried and they don't.  Hope you find them more entertaining than I did.  Just rambling, semi-coherent, self-important "observations" from my quick listening.  Mind you, I just tried listening to the one quoted by SaintIaint Stephen; the others might contain some real gems.

Fr. Matt is "self-important"? How so? And you're one to talk aren't you? Who are you? Are you a PhD? Have you been a professor? Are you a Preist? Are you a Russian historian?

Why don't you say something? What have you said? What have you addressed? What have you countered? Nothing. I see a whole lot of talking but you're not really saying anything. Just less convincing and less qualified "observations" of your own is what I see.

Right, because delusional Americans starting their own vanity churches is exactly like the catacomb church in Russia.

Wasn't this a thread about music?
 ???

Well, the thread is titled "What's everyone listening to?". I was listening to some podcasts I thought were thought provoking so I thought I'd share them. Judging by the reactions, accusations and slander - I should have just kept it to myself! Sheeesh!

Listening to to one of my favorite comedian moments: Aziz Ansari ("Harris")...I'm looking for Nick Swardson's "Monkey High Five," which will make me cry at any given moment, but I can't find it. Boo.
She's touring the facility/and picking up slack.

^ I haven't listened to his full stand up yet, so I will look for that!

I seriously could spend an entire day watching stand-up comedy. No Sarah Silverman or Chelsea Handler, though! (Although I do have to admit I love Chelsea's show. HATE her stand up.)

Oh yeah, Sarah Silverman is so shrill and annoying; can't stand her. Arj Barker is pretty sweet too. Worth checking out at least.

OK, I don't know if you are a man or a woman, but this alone is enough for me to cobble a life long relationship out of.

If you are a man, I am sure we can find a way.
