Now listening to... Havok - Fatal Intervention Finally! An album that is gonna get a lot of play over the coming months This one (like their debut) rocks! Bleh, I think that a lot of these symph metal music videos are so trite and uninspired. Chick who is probably not goth dressed like a goth? Check. Smeared makeup and black eyeliner? Check. (It's totally okay to have her as a non-goth, guys, I'm sure that the men won't care either way) I find for that to be true generally... the less makeup on a woman, the better. Maybe that's just me though.

Not to get too off topic with this, but I (and many women) believe that men like natural makeup. They like women who look polished but not too artificial. Some women wear a natural look but use 10-15 products to achieve that effect! Some of my church friends years ago used to give me a hard time about my love for cosmetics, telling me that I looked like I was pursuing men 24/7. Let me tell you, from my experience, most men never have anything to say about what color blush I'm wearing or my lipstick. In fact, my husband's best friend and I were going out for coffee once and I told him that I needed to put on makeup before we left. "You're not wearing any?" he asked. "Not even lipstick?" I was initially too scared to approach my now-husband, who was full-out goth. I thought he wouldn't want to date a bohemian-type woman, but apparently he's into women. Women, period. Black nail polish or not. So... Okay, to make this more on topic, I'm now listening to Avalanch - Nunca es tarde. (Love the vocalist's voice!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpoCot0bhawAny recommendations for Spanish metal bands? I'm trying to expand my Spanish music collection.

Being the husband of an aesthetician, I know I'm one of the few who knows the difference and still prefers little to no makeup.

There's this particular group of vids on youtube of two (maybe three) guys on youtube doing Megadeth and other covers. They each record a video of them doing their part and one of them edits and mixes it. It's incredible. Sadly, I think one of them died recently and they don't do it anymore, but I wish I could find them again.

Sounds like it'd be awesome to listen to... if I ever run across it I'll post a link here. Fwiw, that Amerikhastan (sp?) guy does songs with another guitarist every once in a while.

Any recommendations for Spanish metal bands? I'm trying to expand my Spanish music collection.
They are technically Mexican, not Spanish. And they play acoustic guitars, but they are former metalheads, and they cover Metallica. Does that count? If so, check out Rodrigo y Gabriela. Absolutely oustanding duo, I loved them from the first notes I heard them play.

Oh yeah, Rodrigo y Gabriela! I like their covers. Since you reminded me of them, I'm looking for their original material. Right now, though, it's: Strip - Psihomehanicar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vF3tT3MZ4l4Wish I could understand Serbian! Love this song.

Believer - Transfection This album just came out on the 12th. I had it preordered and got it today. And wouldn't you know it... the case is all busted. And I don't mean just a little cracked, but pretty much unusable. Honestly? I can understand if it's some used CD from 1997 that I bought for $5, but a new CD? *shrugs* Ahh well. The music is... different. Which I guess I expected from this band. Still getting used to it, though it defintely hasn't pulled me in like Gabriel did. Cool artwork again though.

Destruction - The Price I was at the library today, and when I started looking over the books on tape, what did I see next to the Bible readings? several lectures on the New Testament by Bart Ehrman I should have picked them up to see what he had to say, though I could guess. Also, they now have 4 books by Orthodox authors, woo hoo!
