Here I am playing some very simple guitar in my study. Very basic stuff; I'm not very good. I recorded this with my digital camera, so the quality is poor. I'm really posting this so that I can get some suggestions and help as to how to improve the sound of recording. Is there some type of microphone that plugs into a digital camera? I'm really ignorant about this stuff. Thanks for any help and advice you can give me- on how to record better quality sound or how to improve my guitar playing.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI17I47cDXISelam It largely depends on the camera. Some cameras have 1/8" input jacks for external mics, but many do not. One thing you can experiment with is finding where the mic on the camera itself is. You might be able to cut some of the volume distortion out by taping a small wad of cotton over the mic hole, being careful to not actually put tape over the mic hole itself. Alternatively, you can go to a place like RadioShack and get a $30 microphone (and the right kind of adapters so you can plug it into your camera, of course...they'll be able to help you there) and try that route. BTW, you play very well. |
