Don Francisco... Wow. That brings back memories. Selam You're telling me. He's one of the few artists my dad often played when I was small that I've retained. Him and the Monkees. I got ahold of some of his stuff a little earlier this year when I started to become nostalgic for the music of my childhood (it was really hard to hunt down some early 90s Newsboys). The Monkees, however have always been in my collection . Currently listening to Beethoven's 4th

I still cannot believe they made an Unforgiven III. Lol. Funny thing is, the solo in the Unforgiven 3 is the only one on the entire album that I actually like. ( link) Not that it's great, but it's the first thing I've heard Kirk play since the Black album that I actually liked (that I know was Kirk's anyway).

INCUBUS "Are You In?" Here are a couple of live versions. This song is very smooth with a tight groove. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/?v=ggLOdnlMOzwhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyG-8O3YGEc&feature=player_embedded#Selam

The most surprising "Christian" Christmas CD - Sufjan Stevens "Songs for Christmas"
It's actually a 4 EP set of traditional and new carols in a predominantly folk setting since Sufjan Stevens is primarily a folk / indie singer-songwriter. What I didn't realize was how plainly Christian this CD was going to be; it's just wonderful.

Finally brought out the ol' Clancy Brothers Christmas album ( Boulabas, the opening track). Between this and the Irish Rovers "Irish Christmas" record, my wife will be pulling her hair out. Being a mall worker, she's not a fan of Christmas music and she really doesn't like much traditional Irish music. Needless to say, these get alot of play when she's at work and not at home

Rachmaninoff's Great Vespers (Robert Shaw version). Even though an Orthodox choir would have been more authentic (Shaw's abrupt rests may have been esthetically pleasing but sounded abnormal to my ears), the music itself conveys the basic idea of many of its hymns, even without any words, for example as in "Come Let Us Worship," "Bless the Lord O My Soul," and "Lord, Let Thy Servant Depart in Peace."

Pantera - Planet Caravan
I put Pantera on because I wanted something angry, and that was as angry as I had. Now it's at their cover of Planet Caravan. I always liked their cover more than the original Sabbath version. I know, I'm a blasphemer. I liked SRV's cover of Little Wing more than the Hendrix version as well. *shrugs*

Thanks for the impetus. It must have been 15 years since I last listened to that version of the song, or seen its weird video for that matter. Strangely, I share the same opinion as yours here, and that is regardless of the fact I eventually concluded that Pantera and this new post-thrash sound just would not suit my tastes. I decided to stick to the bloody roots as those Brazilians would have said, contrary to the way ironically they actually decided to take off. Needless to say, I'm been disgruntled for quite some time now.
At any rate, those preferences are nothing to worry about. However had you said that you have something for the cover of Holy Diver played by Killswitch Engage over the original, then you would certainly merit being called the lowest of reprobates.
