I used to hear that song every week! Smiley They had this children's program on early Saturday mornings, and they'd play all sorts of sports-themed music, if I recall correctly. That was 20-25 years ago though.

Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Russian Easter Overture, Op. 36.  You can easily hear the Russian Troparion for Pascha as well as the Znameny chants of "Let God Arise" for the Paschal Stichera.

It started to really struggle, so I had to perform fan euthanasia.  They really don't make these things like they used to.

Orianthi Panagaris.  She's a Greek-Australian who's absolutely amazing on the guitar!  The song "According To You" is definitely a pop song, but who cares?  The girl got skills, y'all!

  An audio montage

  According To You

 This girl's amazing!  She was-

 1. Handpicked by Michael Jackson for his last tour!

 2. Set apart by Carlos Santana (who compared her to Stevie Ray Vaughn!)

 3. Put on stage by Steve Vai (who was blown away by her skills!)

If that's a nod to Fionn mac Cumhaill (Finn MacCool), I like it.  But I declare, Alveus, that cover is pretty scary to me.  And I imagine the music would give me nightmares.  Smiley

ISRAEL KAMAKAWIWO'OLE: "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1235426/israel_kamakawiwoole_somewhere_over_the_rainbow_lyrics/

This version of this famous song is a great way to start or end your day. He masterfully blends "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World." It's really beautiful!

I'll say this much; you've got great taste!

Do you have a favorite?  I like Pop a Top, Mercury Blues and Midnight in Montgomery. But, I like almost everything he puts out!  "Well, way down yonder on the Chattahoochie..."  Cheesy

My all time favorite song of his is Midnight in Montgomery its so haunting. And I love how it incorporates images from old Hank Williams senior songs.

Today's playlist starts off with the soundtrack to "Shock Treatment", which, while having a better overall feel than Richard O'Brien's previous songwriting in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" just doesn't have the "hits" that its latter soundtrack had.

Wow...I have a copy of Shock Treatment..no one else has even heard of it!
