Creedence Clearwater Revival- Cosmo's Factory
I've always really liked CCR whenever other people were playing them but for some reason never actually bothered to listen to them of my own accord. And that's my loss because they are a truly great band, one of the few "classic rock" bands of the 60's-70's that don't annoy the heck out of me. There's a lot of really different stuff on this album, ranging from straightforward blues and rockabilly covers to some long jam-ish songs. Everything is great but the jewels are definitely the songs Fogerty wrote, which manage to wear his influences on the sleeve yet are unmistakably his original work. I loved "Looking Out My Back Door" ever since I was a kid and I think that one, "Run Through the Jungle," and "Up Around the Bend" are my favorites here.
