I'm not sure if Lemkos agree among themselves whether they are Ukrainian or not.

I looked for some videos of old people speaking Lemko after listening to the song, the language sounds different to me, less Slavic than Ukrainian.

Ukrainian sounds less Slavic than other Slavic languages to my completely untrained ears, too.

Ten versions of this song, so far....

You are the promised kiss of springtime
That makes the lonely winter seem long.
You are the breathless hush of evening
That trembles on the brink of a lovely song.
You are the angel glow that lights a star,
The dearest things I know are what you are.
Some day my happy arms will hold you,
and some day, I'll know that moment divine,
When all the things you are, are mine!

Our youngest daughter crying because she wants more vitamin C.

Kids aren't alright. When I was young we cried because our mothers wanted to make us eat healthy things.

When I was a kid, my parents forced us to consume all sorts of nasty supplements. I see the benefit of vitamins/minerals (especially D) so we give our kids supplements. My first rule is that they have to be something that tastes OK. It kind of backfired, and the kids think our Acerola Vitamin C and D3 supplements are treats. We keep them up high where they can't reach them, and only give them the recommended dosage for their size/age each day. That unfortunately means the little ones get fewer vitamins than the older ones, which makes them feel greatly offended. The youngest child in question is a mere 22 months old, so I dare not give her extra as a treat even if vitamin C is water soluble and an overdose isn't likely.

Our kids somehow have very healthy eating habits; they love veggies (specifically kale, carrots, celery, broccoli, garlic/onion, artichoke hearts, and asparagus). I can't really claim any responsibility, I didn't ever set out to have kids that loved veggies. I have always just given them food I wanted to eat, and no baby food purees; all our babies have eaten pho before age 1 for example. That was mostly because I personally think baby food is disgusting, and I am far too spendthrift to buy it.

'Evil isn't the real threat to the world. Stupid is just as destructive as evil, maybe more so, and it's a hell of a lot more common. What we really need is a crusade against stupid. That might actually make a difference.'~Harry Dresden

"Whether it’s the guillotine, the hangman’s noose, or reciprocal endeavors of militaristic horror, radical evil will never be recompensed with radical punishment. The only answer, the only remedy, and the only truly effective response to radical evil is radical love."
