I just found out 50 years old!

When I was younger I always said '66 was my favorite year in Rock / Pop music.  For all I know that still may be the case, the year really may be (the / a) high water mark in pop music.  For my tastes the only era that might match the years '65-'67 would be '77-'81/82, and those early years of rock '53 - '58

Other favorite pop rock albums / singles that turn 50 in 1966:

Beatles, Revolver and the Paperback Writer /Rain single
Yardbirds,  Roger The Engineer and Shapes of Things / You're a Better Man Than I single
Bob Dylan, Blonde on Blonde
The Rolling Stones, Paint It Black and Aftermanth
Birds, Fifth Dimension
13th Floor Elevators, Pychedelic Sounds
Cream, Fresh Cream

Key info missing:

I just found out Pet Sounds was 50 years old.  Hopefully that solves the mystery of the previous post.  Pet sounds...50.

Back in the 5th grade, at the roller skating rink every weekend, always loved it when they played this jam. Funky as hell! The 70's were good to me as a kid.  :)

It has been a long time since I last listened to Death Grips (a.k.a. two hipsters and a gangster).

This is what a castrato singer sounds like. (They had them in the Byzantine Empire, too).

Hector Berlioz song cycle.  Well worth listening to.  I've been happily stuck on this for the past few weeks.  I lost the CD about a year ago, and found it in some obscure location in my Apartment and am delighted to have it back again.

Currently on the songs. The score will come later.

Just bought a three-say ticket to Tuska Metal festival. I think it's the largest Metal festival in the Nordic countries.

Got some Conlon Nancarrow on. He's awesome at making player piano rolls
Quote from: Nun M.
The dread Pantocrator...is also "Christouli mou", (my little Christ), who really listens when you run in to your neighborhood church on the way to work to cry and light a candle because your daughter is in trouble at school. The untouchable and all-holy Mother of God is also "Panayitsa mou", who really will take your part before the court of heaven because, just like your own mom, she’ll always stick up for her children, no matter how badly they’ve behaved.

Today, remembering the 153rd anniversary of the great battle of the American Civil War, the soundtrack album of Gettysburg.

Tomorrow, in honor of the 240th anniversary of American Independence, piano works by 19th century composer Louis Morreau Gottschalk which includes The Union, a piece which has one of the finest adaptations of the Star Spangled Banner ever written.
