I spent most of the morning (3.5 hours) listening to the Neverwhere radio play. The book just bumped itself to the top of my reading list.

oh the book is fantastic....one of a few true great alt universe books out there.
All opinions expressed by myself are quite tragically my own, and not those of any other poster or wall hangings.

So is the play. The casting is nothing short of superb. I wish I could save it, but the BBC iPlayer says no. :-\ If only it came out in audiobook format, I'd pay for it.

My family had a couple of those gunfighter ballads.  I love those records.

Currently listening to an old favorite from way back in high school that I still listen to from time to time and enjoy immensely:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EOltvNRCmY

still a top 10 rock album of mine.  I probably know bass or guitar on over half the album.  The "Rave Up" Yardbirds album is just as good, if not better, "Little Games" has it's problems but it is a bit of a lost treasure.  The Yardbirds are an old standard rock favorite of mine, I always thought they have been fantastic.

I didn't know who he was at first, so at first I thought you meant Alex Jones! His tones aren't exactly dulcet....

I'm not going to be posting as much on OC.Net as before. I might stop in once in a while though. But I've come to realize that real life is more important.

What do you mean? There are plenty of beautiful Arab songs like this Christian one:

I didn't say anything about Arabic songs being bad. There are many nice Arabic songs. I just said that the Israeli songs sound the same except when it comes to language, which shows the strong cultural connection between Arabs and Jews.

Beneath the Below Is a River; a collaboration between Wendy Rule and Craig Patterson as the soundtrack to a short fantasy film (which I want to find and watch now). Only two tracks available on YT, more's the pity.

Kellianna, Traditions

Some of the most unpretentious renditions of folk standards I've ever heard. The Ave Maria is a bit 'eh', but most of the rest is solid. Especially the duets with Wendy Rule and Jenna Greene.

Judas Priests' Redeemer of Souls.

A good Priest album. It's no Defenders of the Faith or Screaming for Vengeance (what is?), but it's still damn good!

The title track

Have a touch of insomnia, I haven't even touched an instrument in over a year nor have I played seriously in about four years.  I've lost all desire for that kind of thing.  Out of shear boredom of being stuck in Toledo I'm trying to see how much of Revolver (plus Rain/Paperback Writer) I can relearn before I get bored and/or tired.  So far I've got Rain, I'm Only Sleeping, Paperback Writer, and And Your Bird Can Sing down (and of course, Tomorrow never knows, but that doesn't count).  Not sure how many more songs I got left in me until I burn out.  Unfortunately my Hofner is back home in Chicago, so I'm using my old practice bass which makes this even less fun than it already is.  I probably only have two more songs at most left in me...then hopefully I'll be done playing for at least another year.  My guess is I'll fiddle with Taxman for a bit, then call it a wrap.

Wow thank you for that. I listened to half of that before noticing it was the full album. At first I thought it was some groovy Latin Jazz then it turned around into full blown salsa. I have to dig deeper into Mr Colon.

So is using a preposition when you want an adverb.

My playlist this evening consists of the National Anthem of the USsR and Incinvicble and Legendary by Alexandrov, followed by the rather unnerving Prelude and Fugue in B Minor, the Elegy for French Horn, and the creepiest one yet, the Prelude, Fugue and Toccata, by Vartan Barsegian, who rather cheekily liked to defy the communists by buildimg his works around noticable motifs from Armenian church music (especially in the march Armenia my Motherland).  All this pefromed by the St. Petersburg Admiralty Navy Band under the direction of (then) Lt. Cdr. Alexei Karabanov.

Bobbie Gentry - Ode To Billie Joe

Great song. :)

Not to be TO judgmental, but you are wrong!

Well, thank heaven for small favours. ::)

BTW, what IS that song about? and I've heard it about 10 gazillion times and still don't know. 'course that could just be me being stupid again.

Oh, you know, stuff.

A WHOLE Wiki-page to that song!
Well, thank you and now there's more known about it than.......
I am to stunned to finish!
Wiki ties it to the homosexual movement, Sweden, LSD, rag dolls, vineyards and more than .....hand me the duct tape and no more coffee.
But thanks, somehow....
