Joni Mitchell: "Down To You"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acR2Ssiq-JU

Everything comes and goes
Marked by lovers and styles of clothes
Things that you held high
And told yourself were true
Lost or changing as the days come down to you
Down to you
Constant stranger
You're a kind person
You're a cold person too
It's down to you
It all comes down to you.
You go down to the pick up station
Craving warmth and beauty
You settle for less than fascination
A few drinks later you're not so choosy
When the closing lights strip off the shadows
On this strange new flesh you've found
Clutching the night to you like a fig leaf
You hurry
To the blackness
And the blankets
To lay down an impression
And your loneliness

In the morning there are lovers in the street
They look so high
You brush against a stranger
And you both apologize
Old friends seem indifferent
You must have brought that on
Old bonds have broken down
Love is gone
Ooh, love is gone
Written on your spirit this sad song
Love is gone

Everything comes and goes
Pleasure moves on too early
And trouble leaves too slow
Just when you're thinking
You've finally got it made
Bad news comes knocking
At your garden gate
Knocking for you
Constant stranger
You're a brute-you're an angel
You can crawl-you can fly too
It's down to you
It all comes down to you

I remember having an album by that band, but it's been a while. Don't remember the impressions.

Oh no, I am hearing a terrible female "rap" over that Isaac Hayes sample which Tricky turned into a trip hop classic. This makes me sad.

When Lemmy died, I went on a Motorhead kick.  When David Bowie died, I went on a David Bowie kick.  When Glenn Frye died, I listened to one song of the Eagles (Seven Bridges Road; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7Li1ez-iQ4 ) and rightly decided to call it quits right then and there.  Apparently, it is verboten to say that one hates the music of the Eagles. I guess if one of their members dies, everyone is required to become a fan. Sheesh.

Yeah, I never was a fan of the Eagles.

IOWA - Бьёт Бит

I honestly can't tell if music video production/choreography in Russia is stuck in 1995-1998 or if it's purely intentional from a hipster-artistic desire.

Megadeth - Dystopia

Listened to it twice tonight. Not up to the level of the first 5-6 records, but better than I expect from modern-day Megadeth, and certainly better than the last stinker of an album. Mustaine's lyrical political conspiratorial nutcasery seems less... prominent, I guess; it didn't distract me that much anyway. He kept the spoken word stuff to (I think) about 45 seconds, and it actually worked well where it was used. Solos are still flavorless. Better riffs and more of them than he's usually done of late. It's heavier, but has a better vibe to it IMO than the last 4-5 albums, less of a 'Hey guys, we're still metal, we promise! Come back!' fan service desperation thing.

Over the past couple of months:

What did you think of the Method Man Tical album, it very hard to listen to for me like it had poor sound quality, like it muffled or something. My favorite WU solo is GZA Liquid Swords, yet I haven't listen to much rap in ages.

A few days ago I was listening to a lot of Medieval Organa like this.

Tonight I began on a Neil Diamond kick- Brother Love, Cracklin Rosie, etc. Then I listened to Poncho and Lefty for some reason. Now I'm listening to the Dubliners.

Neighbor is playing Nirvana. A week or so ago the songs I heard cominh from their apartment so closely matched a playlist I have on my pc that I thought they'd hacked into my computer somehow and were stealing all my sounds. Turns out a radio station somewhere simply has as bad a taste in music as me.

You should ask Antonis what his neighbours are playing.
