Are Orthodox allowed to listen to songs that have sinful lyrics/themes, as long as I enjoy the melody and not be influenced by the lyrics?

I have been listening to a lot of Kate Bush and Oingo Boingo recently. Music is one of the reasons I believe a God exists.  There is music in nature, but what man does with it is so much more expressive than what I believe occurs in the animal kingdom. It's a great gift from God. I don't think I would want to live without music.

No wonder why all of Diane Warren's love songs suck.

DPR Korea Special Forces Training - Korean People's Army

"The Korean People's Army is the best trained and most invincible army in the world. The Anglo-Zionist empire does not dare to attack DPR Korea. And, it is not so much the DPRK's nuclear deterrent that the imperialists fear, but the fighting spirit and iron determination of the Korean soldier."

Iron Maiden - "Wrathchild"

In my former Iron Maiden coverband days, we would usually start out with this one, preceded, of course, by Ides of March.

Question for people here, what audio equipment do you use for music playback? Headphones or speakers or?

And where do you normally play your music from?

Tablet/laptop loudspeakers. Pathetic, I know but I rarely listen to cds anymore and headphones are usually too bothersome. I've been thinking of getting some wifi attachment to my stereos.

Lately I sort of prefer speakers, but certain times I can't when I'm using my microphone to talk to other people. Well I guess I could but there might be a lot of background noise.

See I am not at all interested in some hifi loudspeaker setup that costs tons of money. Any cheapy 2 speaker setup works for my needs I suppose when I'm playing computer games. I just don't get accurate positional sound doing that. At least with certain headphones I have I can fake surround sound.

If purely music listening, I use headphones. I really like cans that sound engaging and dynamic.

Since I started using my television as a 'computer monitor' I've been using my PC much less for music, so I mostly use a kindle or mp3 player now, with cheap inexpensive Sennheiser headphones or OMG I paid money for those? really inexpensive earplugs. I can usually pick out all sorts of nuances in the actual music playing (especially with guitars), but for whatever reason I am half-deaf to sound quality.
